Mastering Auger Operation: How to Drill Precise Holes for Poles, Pillars, and Trees

Hello Guys! Are you looking to make holes for poles, concrete pillars, or planting trees? The easiest way to achieve this is by using an auger.

Auger Options

Available Auger Sizes:

  • We offer augers ranging from 15 cm up to 1.2 meters in diameter.
  • Today, we’re using the 50 cm high-torque auger with a white rock bit.

Bit Options:

  • Black Bit: For soft grounds.
  • Orange Bit: For general use on hard grounds.
  • White Bit: For very hard, rocky grounds.

Совместимость:

  • The auger can be mounted on an excavator or any loader.

Drilling Procedure

Objective:

  • Our goal today is to drill a vertical hole 3 meters deep.

Preparation:

  • Ensure the bit is free before starting.

Operating the Auger:

  1. In the Cabin:

    • Lower the blade for stability.
    • Ensure the bit is free.
    • Activate the auxiliary control.
    • Use the button on the right joystick to control the direction.
    • Use the trigger for continuous flow: press once to start, press again to stop.
  2. Drilling:

    • Begin drilling slowly to ensure a stable start.
    • Shake with the right buttons to empty the auger.
    • Re-enter the hole and resume rotation.
    • Avoid going deeper than 1 meter at a time depending on the machine and auger size.

Results and Tools

Hole Dimensions:

  • We created a hole 3.7 meters deep and 60 cm wide using a 60 cm bit.
  • For smaller bits, extensions are available ranging from 30 cm to 1.2 meters long to achieve greater depths.

Additional Tool:

  • Depth Check: A tool that helps set your target depth, providing feedback when the desired depth is reached. Useful in cold conditions, allowing you to stay in the cabin and follow the display instructions.
